Shut It Down, Shut It Down

+  Intro: Investors will be turning their attention this week to the Nonfarm Payrolls and Unemployment. We also have the possibility of a government shutdown. Additionally on the economic calendar Consumer Confidence, ISM Index and Construction Spending are scheduled to report

+  Non-Farm Payrolls & Unemployment Rate: On Friday (10/2), Non-Farm Payrolls and the Unemployment Rate are released. Traders will be looking to the results as a measure of the strength of the U.S. economy

+  FED: During the week, multiple FED Presidents will be making speeches while Janet Yellen speaks again on Wednesday (10/1) afternoon. Traders will be listening for additional comments about the potential timing of a Fed rate hike

+  Potential Shutdown: Similar to 2012, the government could shut down if Congress does not agree on a budget for the year at midnight on Wednesday (9/30). If we see a shutdown, economic data will not get released. So starting on Thursday (10/1), if the government shuts down we will not see the release of any economic data including the important jobs report on Friday (10/2)
