I'm Janet Yellen??? The Creator or Destroyer of $1 Trillion in Wealth in 30 Minutes

+  Intro: After last week’s roller coaster which saw the broader markets finish over 2%  on Friday, investors will be turning their attention to central bank speeches. On the economic front, we have retail sales, Wholesale Inventories and Michigan Sentiment

+  Oil: After OPEC made their announcement last week not to cut production, we witnessed West Texas crude fall below $40 per barrel. Investors will watch for any additional statements out of OPEC from the weekend to see if oil can fall even further with the over-supply. Should oil fall further, we will see energy firms and the companies that transport oil fall, while airlines and consumer discretionary stocks should rise

+  Central Banks: During the week, multiple central banks will be making policy statements. Traders will be listening for announcements of any additional monetary easing to further strengthen their nations’ economies. Individual countries that announce any stimulus will see their respective currencies depreciate against the US Dollar and a basket of other currencies

+  Retail Sales: On Friday (12/11), Retail Sales are released and investors will get another look at how retailers performed on Black Friday. Based on the readings, we could see certain parts of the retail sector rise or fall.

+  Terrorism: Investors will be watching the latest developments from the FBI’s terrorism investigation into the mass shooting in San Bernardino and the fight with ISIS in Syria and Iraq. Should we see any type of incident or escalation, whether domestic or abroad, we can expect to see global markets temporarily fall
